Malaysian Teen Dies in Sleep With Earphones On

Nowadays, cellphones play a major part in our lives and become necessity of every human being. They are need to be by our side all day long for a reason of we don't want to miss out on any happenings. But just like everything else, cellphones have both positive and negative effects when misused. Recently, a Teen found dead with earphones on, plugged into mobile that was charging.

  
Friday morning, around 7am, a boy found dead while wearing earphone plugged in to his mobile that was charging.

According to report, 19 year old Syamirul Armizie, was found dead by his mother who went to wake him up in his bedroom in Taman Merbok, Bukit Baru. “His mother, working as a nurse, came home at around 7 am. She went to check her son on his room, when he did not respond to her calls, the victim’s mother used the spare key to unlock the door. She was left astonished after she found her son lying motionless on the bed.” State Criminal Investigation Department Chief Kamaluddin Kassin told the New Straits Times. “The victim had both earphones on, which is still connected to the phone and was plugged to a power bank.”

Even though the police officials are not sure yet if the power bank had exploded, report identified some burn mark on the victim’s left shoulder, where the power bank was placed. The body was immediately sent to the hospital for post-mortem and classified the case as sudden death.

This incident may be use as a reminder. Though there are many of us who like using their phones while charging, it isn’t the safest thing to do, and If you need to charge your phone overnight, just be sure to don’t leave it on the bed or too near you. There are always risks involved with lithium batteries, whether they are in phones or power banks.
